Did you know that there is a shortage of glass vases right now? Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market needs help from The Magic City and in return helps Alabama Children.

Birmingham, WI need your glass vases

COVID-19 seems to affect every aspect of our lives. Glass vases are another thing to add to the list. Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market, a local Birmingham florist, cannot get the amount of vases he needs to make flower arrangements for the community. Usually ordering 100 cases or more by truck from China, the florist can now only receive about 10 cases of glass vases for each order.

Now is the time for Birmingham to help this local business. Dorothy asks community members to donate clear glass:

“It’s kind of a win-win in many ways.

First, it’s glass recycling that most people don’t even want. It is an effort to perpetuate our activity. You can’t make flower arrangements without vases.

– Dorothy McDaniel, Owner, Dorothy McDaniel Flower Market

Put down your unused glass vases to help out this business during the busy holiday season.

Can’t you go to Dorothy’s? Do not worry! Someone from the company will even come to your door to collect your vases.

Birmingham businesses support each other

Children’s of Alabama is near and dear to Dorothy’s heart. For every glass vase donated, the florist will make a donation to this Alabama hospital. In particular, it gives money to Alabama Children’s Hospital Foundation. The foundation helps cover medical costs for children, so families can get the help they need.

Birmingham, let’s help this company help Children’s of Alabama.
